TIMING IS EVERYTHING
PORT CHARLOTTE, Florida March 15, 2026 – Eleven months ago, David Kerr's The Slasher Nurse was carving up a big win at the Carolina Fear Fest. The B Stream was also a sponsor of the festival and diligently scouting titles. David Kerr left with a trophy; B Stream staff left with some notes about a film.
On March 6, the series finale of Joe Bob Briggs' The Last Drive In aired. The series would be awarded four more specials scheduled for release in 2026 and then come to an end on Shudder, the streaming network owned by AMC which has hosted the show for nearly 8 years.
Joe Bob Briggs, whose real name is John Bloom, has been a champion for "B" movies for four decades. His original series Joe Bob's Drive In presented "B" movies on The Movie Channel from 1987 to 1995. He would go on to host numerous episodes of Monstervision on TNT until 2000 and eventually returned to in 2018 with The Last Drive In.
B Stream founder Brad Lyon was always a big fan. Years ago there was even brief talks of Thursday the 12th, which Lyon wrote, produced, and directed, having its television premiere on The Last Drive In. Though the fact the founder of a B movie streaming service is a fan of the most well known TV host of B movies isn't exactly a shocking secret.
Upon news of the show coming to an end, The B Stream paid a small tribute by releasing a double feature of two movies Joe Bob stars in, Cryptids and Barn 2. They even received their own category at the top of the B Stream for the week.
Then David Kerr's work just happened to land back on Lyon's desk at just the right moment. The B Stream doesn't have the ability to review every individual movie submission that comes our way. Most of the movies are selected through partnerships with various studios and distributors. The B Stream loves being able to release films directly from the filmmaker, but the amount of time it would take to sort through and screen all of the submissions would be unsurmountable.
Yet, something triggered a memory and suddenly the staff was digging through the office trying to find the aforementioned notes. There in those notes was a reminder of the cast list, including none other than Diana Price aka Darcy the Mail Girl from Joe Bob Briggs' Last Drive In.
Sometime the perfect moment happens eleven months after you expect it. The Slasher Nurse was offered an exclusive license and set for release March 27th.
Operating as a subscription streaming service, The B Stream releases movies and TV series in the uncensored manner they receive each title. It never interrupts its viewers movie watching with advertisements and even features a social media element it calls The Hive (the community feature on its apps). Here subscribers can interact with each other, post their own videos and photos, and even request movies to be licensed. Subscriptions are available as low as $5.99 a month when purchased annually or no commitment required for only $7.99 a month. It can be found at thebstream.com and through your Apple and Google Play App stores.
